Torniamo all’antico: sarà un progresso.
G. Verdi, letter to F. Florimo, January 5, 1871.
The learning and teaching of singing as an art is a continuous exercise of theory, practice, reflection and sensibility. Multiple aspects are combined in this aesthetic process in which the technical need is subject to the expressive need that drives and justifies it.
Reflections on Vocal Art is a place dedicated to the study of the history and the tradition of singing, through its ideas and creations —compositional and performative— and the publication of original content, synthesis of our theoretical and practical knowledge of singing as a living discipline.
Idea, original content and research by Luca D’Annunzio; research, writing and translation: Belén Baptista; graphic editing and production: Angélica Pardo; translations into Italian: Iacopo Galli.
